Breeddescription

The Flatcoated Retriever is a medium sized active dog. He belongs, like the more known Golden Retriever and the Labrador Retriever, to the gundogs with a great love for waterwork. This dog is, like the other retrievers, bred for working after shooting.
He likes to work for his owner, it doesn't matter if this is with dummy's or with game, the Flatcoated Retriever is a dog to do something with. The only thing is that a Flatcoat will be later grown up than a Golden or Labrador. This takes a lot of patience and understanding during caring and training. Therefore you can't expect that a Flatcoat about the age of eighteen months will behave very well. Those who will have patience and takes time, will have a lot of fun with this breed when this is grown up.
